Why should you get to know ArbStar_157?

I am unpretentious, intelligent, kind, compassionate,nurturing, independent, well-travelled and well-educated. I have strong references from my friends who are some of the most amazing people on the planet. My mother thinks I am marvellous!

I am a caring and much-loved aunt and godmother. Despite being an atheist I attract godchildren like a dog attracts fleas. (Not that I am comparing my much-loved godkids to fleas)

If you are looking for a beauty competition winner then keep looking. However some men have been known to find me irresistible .

My sense of humour is mostly dry, occasionally silly, seldom absent. I try to see, and mostly succeed in seeing, the funny side of life. I would describe myself as a cynical optimist.

I am comfortable in myself but always seeking to improve myself. I have weathered a few tough storms. My experiences have made me the person that I am and I rather like that person. With age and maturity has come the ability to revel in being a little different, quirky and surprising. I think I am different and quirky and not weird but ymmv.

I am a bit of a science and tech geek. Would rather spend money on books than shoes. Have a weakness for red wine and good coffee.

I work as a researcher in the physical sciences. I am fortunate to be able to earn money from a passion and hobby.

But all is not science - I care about people, animals and social issues. I enjoy reading and intelligent conversations about life, death, ideas and shared experiences. I love my cats and enjoy game watching (that is Korte Avondjurken wildlife rather than sport) and escaping to the bush. More comfortable camping in the bush or barefoot on the beach than in a cocktail dress.

One of my current aims is to be more active - so I have started Prom Jurken going to gym again. My favourite form of exercise is a long walk.

Other things on my bucket-list are to learn to scuba-dive and to sail.

I have been lucky to be Korte Avondjurken able to travel widely for work. I revel in the mind-opening effect of travel.

I consider myself fairly liberal socially and politically - if you do not have similar views we probably won't have much in common. I enjoy debates and discussions. However I am a rational scientist. If you think that evolution is an unlikely theory and that the moon landings were an elaborate hoax then we are unlikely to have much in common.
